Hedge fund Jain Global made two big equities hires in London

Jain Global may now be managing money exclusively for Millennium, but it is still adding its own portfolio managers (PMs), too.

Two senior PMs have arrived at Jain Global in London, both focused on equities.

Valentin Tataru joined from JPMorgan, where he spent the past two decades as a hybrids trader. Tataru is now an equity arbitrage portfolio manager.

Murat Bostan joined from his own equity market neutral fund, KMB Capital. Bostan spent two years running KMB and was previously an equities portfolio manager focused on TMT stocks at Millennium.

Jain Global declined to comment.

We reported last week that the firm paid an average of £611k per head in London last year. Business Insider reported that Jain Global ended its life as an independent fund with a loss of 0.2%.

There has been some speculation about whether Millennium will want to keep all Jain Global's portfolio managers, although Bloomberg reported in September that Jain Global is still hiring and is pitching itself as "a trading firm where portfolio managers collaborate with one another, whereas Millennium provides more independence and autonomy."
