The most talented Barclays trader in a generation left BlueCrest in less than six months
Last year, we wrote about Ankur Aneja. He was the Barclays' managing director in euroswaps trading, who took some time out in July and reappeared at BlueCrest in October. It's thought that he was based at BlueCrest in Dubai.

Aneja did not respond to a request to comment for this article, but a Companies House filing for BlueCrest today says he ceased to be a partner there last week, slightly under six months after he was instated.
Aneja spent 20 years at Barclays. It's not clear why he came and quickly went from BlueCrest, which is the family office of legendary macro trader Mike Platt. There are unconfirmed suggestions that Aneja may have arrived in Dubai around the time that war in the Middle East broke out and that maybe he was unable to devote time to his book as his family required attention immediately after the outbreak of atrocities. It's not known where he is now.
Either way, former colleagues at Barclays say that Aneja should not find it difficult to move into a new seat. "He is very good," says one. "He was consistently one of our best money makers for 20 years. He was also very well liked."
BlueCrest generated returns of 73% last year. Partners there were paid an average of £959k ($1.3m) in the year to March 2025, for partners. Everyone else got £534k each, on average.
