Citi MD in Dubai makes contrarian switch, joins JPMorgan
Moving from JPMorgan to Citi is an exceedingly common career path in 2025. It's not just investment bankers reuniting with Vis Raghavan: JPMorgan traders are moving too. In Dubai, however, an MD in payments has gone in the opposite direction.
Siddharth Sabherwal has joined JPMorgan as an MD and head of treasury services for the bank's payments division in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA). He spent the past three decades working at Citi, initially in India, before moving to Dubai. Most recently, he was the head of global domestic payments operations for the Middle East and Africa at Citi.
Sabherwal has joined JPMorgan shortly after it announced plans to hire ~100 more employees in the Middle East. It currently has just under 400 employees in the region. Citi has been growing its presence in the region, focused on hiring private bankers.
