Citadel Securities staff in London are appreciated by banks and trading firms

Staff at electronic market maker Citadel Securities aren't just appreciated by contemporaries in the algorithmic trading space. Hedge funds want a piece too.

Millennium, for example, hired Citadel Securities portfolio manager Omar Gzouli as a senior PM this month. He spent two and a half years at the trading firm, joining initially from Chris Rokos' hedge fund, Rokos Capital Management, where he was a partner and portfolio manager. Gzouli was also an MD at Barclays, working in equity derivatives.

Meanwhile, London-based electronic trading firm G-Research hired Citadel Securities quant researcher Janmartin Jahn. He spent far longer at Citadel Securities, seven and a half years, and was EMEA head of its systematic internalizer business. Like Gzouli, Jahn had a banking background; he was a VP in systematic equities market making at Bank of America, and a quant analyst in Citi's equities algorithmic trading team.

The pair leave Citadel Securities after what was a great year for the firm. It was on track for its largest ever yearly revenues in 2025, and was on track to pay an average of $2m globally to its employees. In London, the year prior, it paid ~$1.1m.
