Financial Lines Portfolio Specialist

  • Lead market and product strategy for Cyber and Professional Indemnity

  • Shape a competitive financial lines proposition as a trusted technical specialist

  • Hybrid 60% homeworking and 40% from Stratford upon Avon

About the role

At NFU Mutual, you'll take on a strategic, market facing and technical specialist role, shaping financial lines strategy with particular emphasis on Cyber and Professional Indemnity. You'll bring specialist market knowledge to the team and help guide the development of relevant products.

As the subject matter expert, you'll guide the team on complex technical matters and influence market selection and risk placement decisions. This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford upon Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 60% of your hours from home.

Internally this role is called NIS Portfolio Specialist.

About you

You're a credible and confident financial lines specialist who thinks strategically and turns market insight into practical direction. You communicate complex technical information clearly in writing and presentations, build effective relationships with underwriters, brokers, agents and internal teams, and work collaboratively to develop fresh ideas for products and portfolios. You can discuss market trends, competitiveness and innovation clearly, demonstrating how your specialist knowledge would add value to the team.

To join NFU Mutual, you'll also bring

  • Deep financial lines specialist knowledge gained in broking or underwriting, with substantial Cyber and Professional Indemnity expertise.

  • Broader financial lines knowledge that supports connected product decisions

  • Experience assessing technical referrals and advising on strategy, markets and risk placement

  • Current market awareness and experience using data to support decisions in a targeted environment

At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique. We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees.

We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.

We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, a Race at Work and Women in Finance Charter signatory and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability, neurodiversity, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.
