We are partnering with a major UK bank seeking a Specialist Support Executive to join their specialist support team in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in commercial sales support and client relationship management within the payments sector.
You will provide hands-on sales and relationship support to a portfolio of corporate and mid-corporate clients, working closely with Relationship Managers and coverage teams. The role focuses on packaging and pricing deals, ensuring excellent client outcomes, and supporting retention and loyalty through professional service and problem-solving.
About the Role
As Specialist Support Executive you will support the sales process end-to-end, including the preparation of proposals, presentations and contracts, accurate pricing of products and services, and day-to-day client relationship management. You will work with complex data, interpret information from sales colleagues, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver smooth outcomes for clients. The role sits within a specialist support function that values accuracy, strong communication and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide sales and customer/relationship management support to corporate clients, promoting retention and loyalty.
• Prepare sales proposals, presentations, contracts and pricing for products and services (including merchant category codes, online and face-to-face solutions).
• Maintain accurate customer records, databases and sales reports.
• Manage client enquiries and issues - tracking interactions, resolving problems quickly and escalating appropriately.
• Coordinate with internal departments (operations, legal, compliance and others) to ensure smooth execution of sales processes and timely delivery.
• Analyse sales data to identify trends, track performance and provide insights to the sales team.
• Interpret information from sales colleagues and translate it into clear, accurate recommendations.
• Support relationship management initiatives and contribute to marketing collateral where required.
• Conduct market research to identify potential leads, target markets and competitive intelligence.
• Work closely with Relationship Managers and coverage teams to deliver the best possible client experience.
Requirements
Essential
• Experience in a sales support, sales enablement or client support role (or a strong graduate profile with relevant experience).
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interpret and translate information accurately.
• Highly organised with experience supporting corporate or mid-corporate customers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Comfortable managing and interpreting numerical/complex data with a high level of accuracy.
• Genuine interest in financial services, payments or business.
• Confident communicator able to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.
Desirable
• Knowledge of payments acquiring or the wider payments industry.
• Experience in a FinTech or payments environment.
• Degree in Business, Finance, Management or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a financial services or corporate support setting.
