Salary circa £120,000



This is a great job for someone who has extensive experience leading risk, controls, operational resilience, and supplier governance activities within a complex regulated environment. This role would suit a strategic leader who enjoys taking ownership of risk management frameworks, embedding effective controls, and partnering with senior stakeholders to manage operational, supplier, and regulatory risks while enabling business delivery and transformation.




A bit about the job:



You will lead UKGI's (General Insurance) Governance & Assurance team on Supplier Governance, Operational Resilience, and Risk & Control capabilities, ensuring effective management of risks across the organisation. Leading a team of specialists, you will be responsible for developing and embedding frameworks, processes, and controls that support operational resilience, robust supplier management, and strong customer outcomes. Working closely with the UKGI CIO, Governance & Assurance Director, and business leaders, you will help identify, assess, manage, and mitigate key risks while supporting delivery of strategic priorities and regulatory obligations. You will drive continuous improvement of the control environment, foster a strong risk-aware culture, and ensure risk management is embedded into day-to-day decision-making across UKGI.




Skills and experience we're looking for:





  • Knowledge of financial services regulatory framework including current/emerging financial and regulatory issues relevant to insurance/financial companies.

  • Deep understanding of organisational Operational Resilience and supplier governance.

  • Strong risk management capability and the ability to apply knowledge to find pragmatic and effective solutions for the business and customers.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills at all levels, using personal credibility to influence internal and external stakeholders.

  • Advanced planning, prioritising, and organisational skills. Ability to managing multiple tasks and projects across the team.

  • Salary circa £120,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
