Consultants - Dec 2020 and May 2021 Graduates Dallas/en-US/RyanCareers/job/Dallas/Consultants---Dec-2020-and-May-2021-Graduates_R0006031/applyWe are looking for Consultants interested in state, local, federal, and international taxation across the nation. As a Consultant you will work side by side with subject matter experts and work to become one. You will work in a team-based environment to identify tax savings opportunities for Fortune 500 and 1,000 clients. Consultants will receive training and development to become the most seasoned state, local, federal, and international tax professionals in the industry.

Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryans Key Results

People:

  • Provide exceptional client service to multi-state companies by to identify tax savings opportunities
  • Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies, which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings and at appeal meetings, and preparing protests
  • Research and draft technical memoranda regarding state and local tax questions or issues
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
  • Review documentation and research issues
  • Work with raw data to complete detailed calculations

Client:

  • Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
  • Travels to client locations to gather and copy tax returns, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation to use in the audit refund process.

Value:

  • Reviews documentation and researches issues.
  • Works with raw data to complete calculations.
  • Drafts filings, such as petitions for redetermination, refund claims, and various other administrative replies.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (with minimum 9 accounting hours with GPA of 3.0 or higher) strong academic credentials (minimum Overall 3.00+ GPA and Major GPA of 3.25+)
  • Relevant work experience preferred (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)

or

  • Bachelor's degree and one to three years audit or tax related experience
  • Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid drivers license required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
  • Independent travel requirement: up to 15%.
