Who we are looking for

We are seeking Managing Director candidates for a role on our Alpha Sales team. The Alpha Platform Solutions Rep will serve as a consultant to client teams, assisting them to identify and execute front-to-back Alpha sales opportunities. They will be expected to rapidly develop expertise in a wide variety of product areas, enabling them to take ownership of specific client accounts and drive Alpha sales in those accounts

Why this role is important to us

This role will sit in Platform Solutions, part of the Sector Sales team within the State Street Global Clients Division (GCD). GCD streamlines client interaction by focusing resources to their global strategic priorities through a simplified and consistent client service.

What you will be responsible for
  • Working with client teams to complete account plans
  • Creating and presenting client sales materials, articulating and communicating the Alpha value proposition to clients and fellow employees
  • Manaaging the realization of revenue synergies
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts from across State Street to facilitate joint problem-solving and develop strategic solutions to complex client problems.
  • In addition, the Rep will be expected to lead the ongoing development and communication of State Street's Alpha strategy. Specific strategy tasks may include market sizing, customer segmentation, competitor analysis, sales and pricing strategy development, and customer needs assessments. The goal of all strategy tasks will be to improve State Street's competitive position across the investment lifecycle in furtherance of State Street's Alpha strategy
  • Meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Conduct business research on prospects and opportunities in collaboration with the Sales and Relationship Management Team.
  • Become proficient in the State Street ALPHA Platform and related product offerings
  • "Sell the Firm": Candidate will be responsible for learning / selling State Street's products / services across alternatives and global markets
  • Perform product demonstrations and presentations
  • Represent State Street at relevant industry events and conferences
  • Provide regular and accurate reporting back to the Head of Sales
  • Candidate will work closely with operations, legal, risk and relationship management to align opportunities with corporate requirements
  • Network across State Street to uncover other relationships / services that enhance prospecting opportunities
  • Candidate will understand, monitor, and communicate competitor activity throughout the market, identifying key strengths and weaknesses
  • Candidate will provide feedback to State Street's Corporate Marketing team on product positioning, marketing materials, and industry trends

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree, Master's degree (or equivalent) preferred
  • At least 10 years of successful sales experience
  • Willingness to travel regularly
  • Ability to generate new business through prospecting
  • Ability to gain access and interact with C-level executives
  • Deep financial services background and experience
