IT Project Consultant
IT Project Consultant (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts ): The IT Project Consultant will lead solution roadmap planning and application design for assigned IT application development projects. The individual will liaise with the project sponsors, stakeholders, external vendors and other divisions within State Street to ensure successful application requirements and design to enable the application to be implemented within the expected timeframes and budgets. The IT Project Consultant must demonstrate leadership abilities in communication, requirements management, solution design and planning and have ability to adapt to project changes and issues. The individual must be able to work under minimal direction while keeping senior management apprised of progress or issues. Specific duties include: Coordinate the project with other project managers, external consultants, application managers, business manager, development managers, and QA managers; manage within a matrix environment with resources and services provided by centralized teams; develop and maintain project schedules and resource plans clearly defining dependencies; coordinate plans with the various stakeholders; direct activities, assign responsibilities, set contributor performance expectations, and motivate team members toward achieving project objectives; closely monitor project resources, tasks, risks, and milestones and when necessary forecast impact on schedule, quality, and cost and make course corrections using defined change control procedures; facilitate strong communication across the project team and between internal and external resources; clearly communicate, verbally and in written form, the status of the project to both senior business and senior technical management; design and implement risk technology solutions to support Enterprise Risk Management; demonstrate expert data analysis skills and data modeling experience; prepare solution design documentation for software developers; an facilitate strong communication across the project team and between internal and external resources.

Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; and 7 years of experience in Finance Information Technology, which must include at least 5 years of hands-on software development, systems analysis, or IT project management experience.

Must have: Demonstrated experience managing the implementation of vendor products in a large financial organization; experience working with AML Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, or Know Your Customer technologies; experience working on projects leveraging Data Warehousing and involving data sourcing and transformation; ability to effectively manage time and balance priorities; analytical skills to interpret business and functional requirements; knowledge of both waterfall and agile SDLCs; and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products including MS Project and agile tools such as RPC. (Unless otherwise indicated, State Street is seeking ability in the skills listed above with no specific amount of years of experience required. All experience can be gained concurrently.)
