Our client, a fast-growing and internationally recognised organisation within the insurance and financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Learning and Development Lead to join their HR team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the people agenda within a dynamic, high-performance environment.



The Role



This role combines strategic Learning & Development leadership with broader HR Business Partnering responsibilities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to develop talent, strengthen leadership capability, support organisational growth, and deliver impactful people initiatives across the employee lifecycle.



Key Responsibilities



Learning & Development

• Develop and implement the organisation's Learning & Development strategy.


• Identify capability gaps and conduct training needs analysis.


• Design and deliver technical, professional and behavioural learning programmes.


• Manage onboarding and induction initiatives.


• Evaluate training effectiveness and ROI.


• Support professional qualifications and continuous development.


• Manage relationships with external learning providers.


• Ensure mandatory regulatory and compliance training requirements are met.

Talent Development

• Support succession planning and talent management initiatives.


• Develop leadership and management development programmes.


• Partner with managers on performance and career development.


• Coach leaders on employee growth and performance improvement.


• Drive internal mobility and career pathway initiatives.

HR Business Partnering

• Provide expert HR advice to managers and employees.


• Support recruitment and selection activities.


• Manage employee relations matters.


• Contribute to HR policy development and process improvement.


• Analyse HR data and provide meaningful insights.


• Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.


• Champion an inclusive and high-performing culture.

About You



We're looking for a commercially minded HR professional who combines strong people expertise with a passion for organisational development.



Essential

• CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent).


• Experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or Learning & Development role.


• Proven track record designing and implementing learning strategies.


• Experience within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.


• Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.


• Excellent facilitation, coaching and stakeholder management skills.


• Strong analytical and project management capabilities.


• Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.

Desirable

• Degree and/or CIPD Level 7 qualification.
