You will work as a member of the AI (Aviva Investors) People Business Partnering team with flexible alignment across the Global business units of Aviva Investors. You will be expected to deliver core BAU HR processes (e.g. Reward benchmarking, Performance Management, Talent Management, Voice of Aviva and change within either a business unit or part of a project, working alongside a lead People Business Partner (BP).

The Role

You will work as a member of the AI (Aviva Investors) People Business Partnering team with flexible alignment across the Global business units of Aviva Investors. You will be expected to deliver core BAU HR processes (e.g. Reward benchmarking, Performance Management, Talent Management, Voice of Aviva and change within either a business unit or part of a project, working alongside a lead People Business Partner (BP).

The Team

The People Function is made up of circa 30 HR professionals including Talent Acquisition, Development, Reward and Business Partnering. You will be joining a high performing, but close-knit team supporting our business globally.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and facilitate effectively to deliver People processes to quality and on time.
  • Involvement in delivering one or more People activities within a business unit or change program/project.
  • Deliver in challenging/ ambiguous environments whilst managing the expectations of multiple stakeholders.
  • Highlight any issues or concerns to People BP's, suggest resolution, and take ownership where requested.
  • Respond to business issues and queries, in a timely manner, in order to provide a quality service to the business.
  • Collaborate with the People BP to take role in delivery of People plans
  • Develop an understanding of and insight of People Metrics within the business and use them to drive outcomes.
  • Support Business Unit (BU) in understanding the People implications of change and facilitate/embed this with the client
  • Start to develop knowledge of and apply a broad range change methodologies, tools, models and approaches
  • Work across the project life-cycle and apply project management disciplines where required
  • Demonstrate flexibility of approach when influencing and managing stakeholders
  • Manage multiple activities and consult credibly with stakeholders, primarily at leadership level
  • Build and sustain a strong network within a business unit and across People.
  • Influence stakeholders and challenge decision making where necessary.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Involvement in operational People plans and key operational indicators of quality and timeliness
  • Effective support to mid mangers on Leadership skills as measured through effective ER case management and risk managed outcomes in conjunction with Leader Advice team.
  • Effective management information on a timely basis.
  • All external and internal risk, compliance and legal standards met as relevant to the role.
  • Positive feedback from clients; issues arising actively managed and delivering solutions in a timely manner.
  • Development of good relations within the business units, that can be leveraged in the future.

Requirements

  • CIPD qualified / degree equivalent preferred and / or relevant practical work experience and / or management qualification
  • Understand the regional/ global implications of the business lines model and navigate in that matrix
  • Support key People interventions and processes, e.g. Talent Management Performance, Recruitment, Employee Engagement (Voice of Aviva)
  • Understanding of good practice in the wider HR industry and be inquisitive to learn more
  • Up-to-date understanding of the Employment law, remuneration and HR best practice landscape through wide reading, external networks and virtual forums
  • Core People processes (annual cycle) understood and can be practically applied, with flexibility, into the business e.g. Talent management; Succession planning; McLagan benchmarking; Total compensation practices
  • HR project management skills
  • Understand how Asset management industry works
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the external market relevant to Asset Management
  • Range of 'consultancy' skills and techniques in order to solve complex business issues
  • Use appropriate technology to best present information in a meaningful, compelling way
  • Tools and techniques for supporting colleagues and managers in developing or managing the performance of others and how to provide the environment for development, and the ideas of development actions
  • Previous experience of Workday would be beneficial
