Our client combines sophisticated financial modelling, cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights to deliver highly personalised financial planning solutions. As the business continues to expand, they are seeking a Financial Modelling Associate to join their specialist modelling team.
The OpportunityWorking alongside experienced financial modelling professionals, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining complex financial planning and asset-liability modelling solutions that support advice provided to high and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining finance, mathematics and technology to solve complex problems while helping to modernise financial modelling capabilities through Python development and automation.
Key Responsibilities- Produce detailed financial modelling and long-term cashflow analysis for client portfolios.
- Support complex financial planning scenarios including liquidity events, estate planning and intergenerational wealth transfer.
- Prepare, validate and quality assure financial data before it enters modelling systems.
- Assist with the migration of sophisticated financial models from Excel into a scalable Python-based environment.
- Develop Python scripts to automate financial modelling processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Build and execute testing frameworks to ensure model accuracy and consistency.
- Compare outputs between legacy spreadsheet models and new code-based solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering assumptions, calculations and methodologies.
- Investigate modelling discrepancies and resolve calculation issues.
- Provide technical support to advisers and client-facing teams by explaining model outputs and assisting with complex financial scenarios.
- Support the integration of financial models into digital platforms through testing and validation.
We're interested in individuals who can demonstrate:
- Approximately 2-4 years' experience in financial modelling, quantitative analysis, risk management or financial planning.
- Experience gained within wealth management, private banking, investment management or another financial services environment.
- Strong Excel modelling skills with an interest in modernising financial models through Python.
- Experience of Python or a willingness to further develop coding skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality assurance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or another quantitative discipline.
