About my client:
My client are one of Europes leading Private Equity/Private Debt firms, investing across debt and direct lending, managing and advising approximately £9 billion of capital.
They currently have an opportunity to join their Fund Finance team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a part qualified Accountant to gain experience in a dynamic and fast-growing investment firm.
About the team:
The Accounts Team consists of a Financial Controller overseeing two separate Fund Teams, each of which have a Fund Controller who manages a team of three Fund Accountants. The teams are supported by an in house Fund Administrator.
About the role:
The Assistant Fund Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Fund Accountants within the team, preparing all deliverables for review by the Fund Controller and Finance Officer.
The Assistant Fund Accountant Assistant duties will be:
- Fund Accounting and Reporting - assisting the Fund Accountant with reconciliation work and ensuring that general ledgers are accurate. Assisting with the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting, e.g. Financial statements and Partner statements;
- Fund Operations - assisting with the preparation of Drawdown / Distribution calculations and notices;
- Limited Partner Requests - monitoring and preparation of audit; regular and adhoc requests.
- Training - developing an understanding of the Fund structure, software and processes.
What my client are looking for:
The ideal candidate would need to be/have:
- A strong academic background is important (either an excellent degree or AAT qualification conbined with strong prior A level and GCSE grades)
- A strong team player, flexible, highly motivated and have good attention to detail;
- 6 - 18 months accounts preparation experience working at a mid tier accountancy practice OR
- 6 - 18 months experience working at a Fund Administrator working on PE or Private Debt clients
- Part qualified ACA/ACCA or working towards;
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel
- Excellent in person with a strong desire to work in PE or Private Debt
