Assistant Director – Learning Technologist
Job Description Candidate must lead the design and delivery of virtual instructor-led training (VILT) courses for a global clientele; be experienced in virtual instructional design best practices and have extensive knowledge on various web-conferencing platforms including Adobe Connect, WebEx Training Center and Zoom. Candidate will be responsible for successful VILT deliveries, assisting with VILT content development, virtual facilitator training, and managing virtual production support. Candidate will be required to perform client-facing demonstrations on various web-conferencing platforms and advise on platform solutions for clients' virtual instructor-led training solutions.

The Role / Responsibilities:
  • Designs and builds dynamic, interactive and engaging virtual instructor-led training courses in Adobe Connect, WebEx Training Center and/or Zoom.
  • Foster innovation through the use of technology to deliver effective learning solutions, providing technical expertise for virtual learning and conversion of existing instructor-led programs for virtual instruction.
  • Responsible for successful VILT deliveries, cross-team coordination efforts and overall client satisfaction with VILT solutions.
  • Serves as thought leader on virtual instructional design best practices and implementation of virtual classroom learning, including identifying and implementing innovative technologies and approaches.
  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of various web-conferencing platforms and keeps up to date on new features, upgrades and product releases.
  • Strengthens the capacity of subject matter experts to conduct effective training sessions on virtual learning platforms by sharing best practices in virtual instructional design and delivering technical training.
  • Oversees facilitator and producer performance and maintains a database on virtual facilitator and producer competencies.
  • Responds to on-demand requests for curriculum development, the use of technology, or technical troubleshooting. Contacts and works with Adobe Connect (or other platforms) to troubleshoot platform issues.
  • Speaks knowledgeably with clients about the value of virtual instructor-led training solutions. Performs client-facing demonstrations on various web-conferencing platforms. Advises on platform options for clients' virtual instructor-led training solutions. Conducts test calls and troubleshoots firewall issues with client IT teams.
  • Manages relationship and oversees performance for virtual production support vendor;
  • Manages web-conferencing accounts and licensing, tracks account renewals and payments, tracks platform outages and upgrade schedules.
  • Develops and maps standard operating procedures (SOPs) for virtual instructor-led training implementations. Works with training operations and resourcing teams to implement and enforce SOPs across the business.
  • Analyses and implements process improvement changes to ensure the seamless delivery of client virtual classroom solutions.
  • Collaborates strategically with team members on cross-functional training approaches to best serve the client's needs.
  • If required, conducts course evaluation assessments to determine the most effective learning activities and course designs for virtual classroom trainings.

  • 5+ years' experience and expertise in designing and delivering interactive virtual instructor-led courses.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning or a related field;
  • Due to a global support model, must be flexible with working outside of normal business hours when required
  • Knowledge of Adobe Connect, WebEx Training and Zoom required, working knowledge of other platforms desirable.
  • Knowledge of virtual instructional design best practices required.
  • Comfortable with new forms of technology, able to grasp new technologies with ease and provide training to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver quality, client focused results on time and within budget.
  • Committed to providing the highest level of service for Moody's clients.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating with multiple teams.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and work in a fast-paced environment as a team player.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication (verbal and written), facilitation and consensus-building skills.
  • Adept at making critical assessments, identifying and solving problems and proposing recommendations.
  • Proven ability to understand the needs of an organization, identify creative solutions and bring about change.
  • Able to confidently engage with staff at all levels to define needs and expectations, collaborate on projects, and communicate results.
  • Detail-oriented, organized with excellent time-management skills.
  • Must be a critical thinker and a self-starter ;
  • Fluency in English required.
