Coaching and development is a one size fits all approach, right? Construct the annual plan. Follow up on a quarterly basis. Ensure your team are at least ‘meeting expectations’ for annual bonus. Oh, and check-in on a bi-weekly basis to make sure the RFP delivery piece is being covered too. All on a shoe-string budget, if any...sound familiar? My client takes a decidedly more intuitive approach to managing and developing a team and are seeking those that count ‘getting the best out of people’ as a raison d’etre for getting up and in every morning.

The client

My client is a market-leader in the asset management industry and work with some of the largest clients across the globe. They’re known for their long-term investment philosophy – a viewpoint that you’ll activate throughout your teams RFP’s – spanning across various countries and a mix of asset classes. This business firmly have their finger on the pulse when it comes to new markets – it isn’t a surprise to see them at the boardroom table in many companies across the fintech and tech space.

Perhaps more importantly, this business retains their staff. Continual investment in L&D (they’ve just invested in a cutting edge framework and system), an active social team and calendar, and continual salary/benefits benchmarking:

It all adds up to this company retaining a reputation for being THE premier institution for employment in Edinburgh.

Join a growing business

This is a perfect role for those looking to enhance their coaching, development and leadership skills in both an established and growing company. You could be in a smaller RFP team and looking for that next step-up. Or perhaps you’re in a similar place and want to make that side-ways move to a company that ‘walks the walk’ on L&D investment. All they’re looking for is a focus on caring for the team, and delivering excellent RFP’s on a continual basis.

You’ll take all the above and put these development plans into play, managing the RFP team (up to 6 direct reports), developing them using the new continual framework/system, and being the go-to point for sign-off. You’ll be hands on too, delivering market-leading RFPs/Proposals to a global audience and getting into the nitty gritty of a number of already-planned RFP improvement projects.
