We're looking for an Assistant Manager, Credit Underwriting to join our Risk team. In this role, you'll design and execute credit strategies that power our digital lending products - balancing growth with responsible risk management. You'll work at the intersection of data, technology, and business, leveraging ML-driven models and behavioural insights to make smarter underwriting decisions for consumer and SME credit products.

Credit Strategy & Underwriting Design

• Analyze consumer and SME behavior data within payment/e-commerce platforms to define target customer segments and credit product attributes

• Identify critical risk indicators across credit risk, fraud, and application abuse through deep analysis of internal and external data sources

• Design admission policies, credit limits, and pricing structures aligned with risk appetite

Risk Framework Development

• Build comprehensive credit risk management frameworks using data mining, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques

• Partner with data science, engineering, and model teams to implement and deploy risk strategies into production systems

• Develop and refine anti-fraud rules and detection mechanisms

Portfolio & Post-Disbursal Management

• Monitor account behavior and design early warning systems to identify at-risk customers proactively

• Create dynamic credit limit and pricing adjustment strategies based on customer performance and risk migration

• Optimize portfolio quality through risk-based pricing and limit management

Market & Regulatory Analysis

• Research target market economic conditions, regulatory requirements, and competitive credit landscapes

• Assess macro risk trends and their implications for portfolio strategy

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Lead project groups and collaborate with stakeholders across risk, product, tech, and business teams

• Drive external partnerships and ensure effective execution of risk management solutions

Job Requirement

Required

• 5+ years of experience in credit underwriting, risk modeling, or quantitative strategy for personal or SME loans

• Strong data analysis skills with hands-on experience processing large datasets

• Solid understanding of credit risk models, scorecards, and quantitative methods in financial services

• Knowledge of modern modeling techniques (ML, statistical modeling) and their application to lending decisions

• Proven team management and cross-functional project leadership experience

• Excellent English & Chinese communication skills (written and verbal) - working proficiency required to work with Internal Chinese and external international stakeholders

Preferred

• Experience in digital lending, fintech, or alternative credit environments

• Familiarity with overseas fintech markets and international credit operations

• Background in payment platforms, e-commerce credit, or BNPL products

• Experience with automated underwriting systems and real-time decisioning engines
