Your role
Are you an experienced lawyer with a strong interest in structured finance transactions? Are you looking for a responsible and varied role at the intersection of law, business and external advisors? Do you enjoy working in a dynamic environment, similar to the transactions team in a commercial law firm? Are you familiar with providing legal support to day-to-day business for financial institution under foreign (Swiss and/or English) jurisdiction?
We are looking for a person who:
- is familiar with and advises on all legal matters regarding structured and syndicated financing transactions with a focus on Swiss and English law governed loan agreements and related documents; further experience in export finance would be a plus
- provides clear and precise legal advice to our business partners and other risk functions
- helps shape the way we work in Group Legal - together with us and with AI by your side.
Your team
You will be working in the Personal and Corporate & Wealth Management Switzerland legal team based in Krakow/Wroclaw, cooperating directly with the Transaction Banking legal team in Switzerland which, as part of a deal team with other functions within UBS, provides legal support (often together with outside counsel) in structuring, documenting and negotiating complex Swiss and international corporate and leveraged financing transactions. We provide our business partners in the Corporate & Institutional Clients units with high-quality, coherent advice and tailor-made solutions.
Your expertise
- a master's degree in law and bar admission, additional relevant education (e.g. LL.M.) is a plus
- more than 5 years of experience as a lawyer in a bank, other financial institutions or international law firm, preferably in the transactions business
- familiarity with an additional jurisdiction (English and/or Swiss law) is required
- expertise in corporate lending (including leveraged finance) with a focus on participations in syndicated loans will be an additional advantage
- interest and, ideally, work experience in using AI and Legal Tech tools
- good problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for both the details and the big picture, able to identify and manage risks in a new and evolving business
- being an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate and manage internal business partners and functions as well as outside counsel, also in other locations
- ability to work independently under time pressure and meet ambitious deadlines
- fluency in spoken and written English required. Very good knowledge of German will be a considerable plus.
