Imperium Commodity Search is retained by Oxy-Low, a growing smart-packaging business with extensive growth plans in the perishable agricultural and soft commodity markets.  To facilitate revenue expansion in the commodity sector within high value and perishable products (nuts, seeds, pulses, foods etc.), we are seeking an experienced sales leader with a good understanding of these markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a dual-focus within the organisation; leading the wider business as CEO whilst taking ownership of the commodity vertical to ensure onboarding targets are met within the trading house, supplier and processor markets.

Oxy-Low:

Protective packaging and treatment of tobacco and food/soft commodities
Young, dynamic and fast growth business with a truly international/global reach
Providing ‘Controlled Atmosphere’ treatment installations for non-toxic insect control
Driving innovation in packaging and insect control in the edible commodities space (specifically edible nuts)

European headquartered with regional APAC office in Vietnam producing big bag liners and packaging materials as well as some technical installations
Incoming CEO to report into shareholder team of 7 (founders/investors)
Current staff of 9 which will grow to 12 in the short-mid term as further hires are made to bolster marketing and account management

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the global team to ensure consistent revenue growth across key industry sectors (tobacco and commodities)
  • Take ownership of the commodities business development activity and work strenuously to market the business to clients in the commodity, food and edible nuts trading markets
  • Manage hiring across target markets to ensure suitable staffing to manage all front, middle and back office functions to ensure efficiency of operations
  • Identify target markets and new areas for the business to expand into and ensure staffing is equipped to manage this growth
  • Work closely with back office and finance teams to ensure stringent financial targets are met and the liquidity of the business remains strong
  • Act as the face of the business across the commodity sector whilst working closely with the technical director of the tobacco vertical to promote all facets of the company’s service offering
  • Attend industry events and conferences with other members of the team to promote the business and packaging services to the edible nuts, foods and soft commodity market participants
  • Bolster the marketing (digital and conference) efforts of the firm and work to establish and maintain an ongoing marketing and sales campaign across all verticals of the firm

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience within soft commodities, food or edible nuts industry
  • Management/Directorship experience with a proven ability to motivate and lead a team of professionals in the commodity space
  • Solid commercial acumen with a desire to capitalise on an excellent footing to deliver future growth targets and metrics for the business
  • Proven leadership ability with a talent for motivating and driving commercial and technical staff to achieve company-wide goals
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.  Spanish is beneficial however not essential.
  • Experienced in managing complex sales agreements and contracts with a keen eye for detail
  • Entrepreneurial approach to growth and day-to-day tasks
  • Exceptional customer service and sales ability
  • Ability to travel internationally frequently for client and head-office meetings, particularly in the Netherlands
