Trading Operations Engineer

What is the role about?

The trading team at Bitvavo is responsible for our market-making activities and providing liquidity on the Bitvavo crypto exchange. The team would not be able to accomplish their goals without the support of a Trading Operations Engineer who will support tasks such as monitoring the automated trading, as well as result reconciliation. 

As a Trading Operations Engineer, you will have an exciting opportunity to make an impact on the future of a leading European retail investment platform, by working with one of our core teams. 

How will you make an impact?

• Monitoring the automated trading
• Investigating operational incidents and assessing the PnL impact
• Trade and Position reconciliations
• Trading result reconciliation (trade, fees)
• Settlement reconciliation
• Documenting and improving the trading processes and standard operations, through automation efforts
• Coming up with new business initiatives

What do you need to be successful?

• 1-2 years of work experience
• University Degree in Computer Science, Finance or similar
• An innovative mindset with a drive to reduce repetitive work through automation
• The ability to handle data efficiently (e.g. through querying languages SQL)
• Basic knowledge of Python or JavaScript
• A proactive, results-driven attitude
• An inquisitive mindset and strong numerical skills

Nice to Haves:

• Knowledge of technologies like Looker, BigQuery, and Grafana
