As our business is expanding, we are looking for an ambitious Trade Surveillance Analyst to strengthen the EMEA Trading Compliance team. In this role you will participate in further developing our trade surveillance system, defining and calibrating the alerting parameters, and optimizing our trade surveillance processes. With the growth of our business you will also work on expanding surveillance activities into new asset classes. You will be based in our Amsterdam office but will assist our New York and Hong Kong offices in developing their trade surveillance program.

What you will do

  • Perform day-to-day trade surveillance activities for different asset classes
  • Investigate and document suspicious trading activities and incidents
  • Assist with further developing surveillance capabilities for existing asset classes
  • Support the implementation of surveillance scenarios and their calibration across new financial products and businesses
  • Assist in drafting documentation and guides for best case practices in trade surveillance and monitoring
  • Generate reports on trade surveillance alerts and performance
  • Propose and implement ways to improve day-to-day compliance processes
  • Assist other offices in New York and Hong Kong in improving trade surveillance processes
  • Collect and analyze information for investigations, inquiries and audits, both internal and external
  • Document, archive and evidence compliance procedures and processes

What you need to succeed

  • 2 to 5 years of work experience in trade surveillance or related field
  • Thorough understanding of financial products and markets
  • Knowledge of MAR / MiFID II / MiFIR
  • Affinity with creating and implementing trade surveillance related policies and procedures
  • Strong data analytics skills
  • Experience with SQL and Python is beneficial
  • Extensive experience with Excel
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
  • An independent self-starter with high regard to company policies and regulatory framework
  • Personality that thrives in a fast-paced environment and fits in an agile company culture
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, problem solve and trouble shoot
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Prior experience with SCILA trade surveillance is beneficial
