Your job
You are an essential member of our team with the prime objective to build, maintain and protect the relationships with our key Financial Sponsors clients and work on the optimization of your portfolio by branding and deepening our strategic dialogue and share of wallet. You identify opportunities on the strategic side, you expand your external and internal network and take the lead on your client portfolio, working closely with all colleagues in the bank that are in close contact with Financial Sponsors, such as a.o. Leveraged Finance, M&A, ECM and Sector Origination.

While managing your portfolio and developing the bank's client strategy, you are able to weigh in all different stakeholders. While you present the best strategic and product solutions for your client, you add value as a sparring partner for the Investment Manager and your partners in the bank. You monitor and analyse the performance of your clients and keep a close eye on relevant triggers such as strategic interests or preferences, the development of their portfolios and market intel.

Your working environment
The Coverage Department consists of several sector teams and the Financial Sponsors team, working at the HQ of ABN AMRO in Amsterdam. We assist Large Corporates and Financial Sponsors in achieving their strategic and financial goals, combining our knowledge of the market and industries with extensive financial expertise. We have gradually expanded our efforts to selected Financial Sponsors. With our considerable market knowledge and track record, our team aims to position itself as the leading advisor and financier in our target sectors.

Your profile
Do you think you are a fit? Check your profile:

  • Over 10 years of experience in corporate banking, M&A, structured finance, acquisition finance and/or equity capital markets and you have been (mostly) active in the European market
  • Thinks like a trader but flourishes as a team player
  • Great communicator
  • Relationship builder and strong influencer
  • Good understanding of M&A, ECM, lending and risk combined with a strong commercial background
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid experience/knowledge of financial modelling and valuation
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written) with cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Both Excel and PowerPoint have no secrets to you
