Job Description

Business and Team Overview

The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock's fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA's principal objectives are to advance the firm's risk management practices and to deliver independent risk expertise and constructive challenge to drive better business and investment outcomes. The Prudential Risk Management team within the Regulatory Risk function is responsible for assessing the firm's prudential risks to ensure the firm's capital and liquidity resources remain adequate under severe stress. Some key prudential risks are credit, market, liquidity and operational risk. The Prudential Risk Management team also oversees the governance of the Enterprise Risk Management framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support enterprise risk assessments and documentation, including ICAAP and ORSA assessments, including the development and documentation of operational risk scenarios

  • Production of materials to facilitate senior management and Board review and challenge of the ICAAP.

  • Enable oversight, challenge and reporting to business areas on risk management, design and effective operation of controls and reporting.

  • Provide support for the development of risk appetite and risk profiling.

  • Support the preparation for, and response to, oversight reviews of the prudential risk framework (e.g. internal audit and regulatory reviews).

What you have:

  • A degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a quantitative field.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify emerging risks, explain risk trends and to communicate results with impact.

  • Computer literate, with strong Excel skills.

  • Integrity combined with high personal and professional standards. A strong commitment to excellence and ability to get a job done in the face of adversity.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate (verbal, written and presentation) across all levels within the organisation.

  • Proactive self-starter, ability to learn quickly and to take initiative. Enthusiasm and energy combined with a clear sense of how to "make it happen".

  • Ability to work with key stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to reduce risks across the organisation.

  • Good teamwork skills.


You might also have:

  • Experience within financial services and asset management.

  • Working knowledge of risk management and/or regulatory frameworks, e.g. Capital Requirements Directive or Investment Firm Prudential Regime.

  • Understanding of investment products.
