A renowned algorithmic trading venue is seeking an independent non-executive director to sit on the board, to provide strategic advice to the CEO and senior management. Our client operate with a single-tier management board structure, and is an authorised AFM investment firm that trades on its own account.

The Candidate:
* Extensive experience in the financial industry, with a focus on investment and trading for own account
* Previous experience serving on a Board of Directors, ideally as a Chairman or Lead Independent Director
* Strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the financial industry, particularly in the EU/Netherlands - specific experience in compliance and/or technology would be beneficial
* Proven track record of providing effective leadership and strategic guidance to a senior management team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders

The Role:
* Implement strategic compliance decisions to assist with the acquisition
* Provide compliance and regulatory advice to business and functional teams involving the establishment and maintenance of regional e-money activities and related businesses
* Build up, design and monitor compliance systems and processes
* Liaise and build relationships with regulators in the UK and the EEA and ensure that reporting and notification obligations are fulfilled
* Being the main point of contact for various audits and assurance controls
* Monitor internal and external business & regulatory environments
* Work closely with other internal functions and teams to ensure overall compliance
