The team

The Global Retail organization is end-to-end functional responsible for the three retail segments: Private Individuals, Business Banking, and Private Banking & Wealth Management. A strong and strategic operating HR function is required to support the Retail organization in achieving its shared goals and objectives. The Global HR Retail organizations key objectives for the coming years are:
  • Creating a consistent and focused Learning framework that supports the craftsmanship of our people.
  • Driving a data-driven Talent identification & development agenda with a strong sense of accountability within the business to grow their talents.
  • Creating meaningful Leadership interventions that help our emerging leaders in their development.
  • Fostering a fair and objective performance culture that creates a winning culture.
  • Fostering an inclusive, inviting, and safe environment where every employee can bring their whole self to work.

Roles & responsibilities

As HRBP Private Banking & Wealth Management you will be part of the PBWM Global Management team supporting to the Head of Private Banking & Wealth Management and reporting to the Senior Global Retail HRD. You act as the key liaison between the HR department and the segment (PBWM), ensuring effective communication and alignment of HR initiatives with the segment's strategic objectives.
  • You will lead multiple teams within Private Banking & Wealth Management, working towards shared objectives.
  • You collaborate closely with senior management in specific countries or regions to enhance their leadership capabilities and support strategic people-related decisions. This includes activities such as talent rotation management and succession planning, fostering employee development, and optimizing team performance, all in service of driving business strategy and achieving tangible results within the Private Banking & Wealth Management.
  • Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to strive for exceptional achievements to accomplish the organization's business objectives.
  • Identify and manage stakeholders up to top management level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.
  • Lead/Support the creation of a strategic workforce plan for a local organization or international business segment to provide a framework for the sourcing and development of talent and to enable the delivery of the business strategy. Drive the hiring and firing of country segment leaders in collaboration with country CEOs and HR Directors.
  • Lead the development of partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the organization, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans Lead IDP (Individual Development Plan) conversations to help country segment leaders increase their impact at the country level and within the global segment network.
  • Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.

How to succeed
  • Education: University / Post Graduate (Masters Degree)
  • International Experience.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Availability to work from any ING location.

Experience
  • Previous experience in HR roles within the Retail Banking sector. Experience in managing relationships with multidisciplinary teams in international environments.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing HR strategies specific to the Retail Banking.
  • Experience in resolving personnel challenges in multicultural environments.
  • Experience in change management and implementing HR initiatives on a large scale across multiple geographical locations within the PBWM.
  • Experience in implementing HR technology and tools at a global level.
  • Experience in leading diversity and inclusion projects at an international level.
  • Experience in optimizing global HR processes.

  • Compensation and Benefits Experience: Experience to run (complex) international compensation rounds / VR pool, utilizing deep knowledge of global compensation and benefits practices and trends.
  • Track record in building, developing, and rotating talents: Proven history in establishing effective talent acquisition and development strategies, along with successful implementation of employee rotation programs to optimize talent potential and mobility across the organization.
  • Strategic Planning: Uses expertise to act as an organizational authority on strategic planning, facilitating the effective alignment of company goals with long-term strategic initiatives.
  • HR Data Analytics and Insights: Develop and investigate multiple hypotheses, using a wide range of HR data to diagnose underlying causes of key business issues and identify opportunities to enhance employee engagement and/or improve business performance.
