Description About this role Introduction to the team: Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of the firm's index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver investment outcomes and ground-breaking alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels.
Your role and impact MASS is looking for two motivated individuals to join our Pensions Portfolios Solutions team in EMEA, with a focus on our Dutch fiduciary business. We are seeking candidates at both Director and Vice President level. Both roles will be based in our Amsterdam office.
The Pensions Portfolios Solutions team designs, implements, and leads on all aspects of portfolio construction and asset allocation to solve our pension client's investment challenges. The team covers Outsourced CIO solutions as well as tailored investment mandates oriented around client outcomes for pension schemes.
Your responsibilities
Lead Chief Investment Officer for several Dutch OCIO pension scheme clients, which include some of our most strategic relationships. Collaboration with other investment teams and lead client representatives.
Partnering with pension schemes and their executive offices in an advisory and portfolio construction capacity. Attendance at Client Investment Committee and Board meetings.
Key role in our business development efforts to attract new business, including presentations to prospective clients.
Lead role in helping innovate our investment proposition for our Dutch business. Contribute and drive investment strategy related topics for Dutch Pension Reform, including the upcoming transition to DC.
Performing analyses on a broad range of topics, including asset allocation, portfolio construction, liability driven investing, risk management and implementation best practices
Engaging with pension scheme trustees / corporates to understand their unique circumstances, investment objectives and constraints and applying portfolio and risk analytics to support investment decisions and portfolio outcomes
Contribute to external communication on relevant topics, for example, presenting at seminars and round-tables.
Supporting ad hoc research and contributing to articles and white papers on relevant topics of interest
You have...
Deep investment and technical experience with a good understanding of financial markets, and ideally some experience in one or more of the following areas: Pension funds, asset allocation, LDI and derivatives
CFA and/or CAIA encouraged but not required
Proven record of academic achievement, work ethic, and leadership
A genuine inclination for quantitative analysis and the ability to work through sophisticated problems and challenges to provide innovative insights
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to non-technical individuals in writing as well as verbally
Proficiency in English and Dutch
Curious self-starter passionate about execution with results-oriented work ethic and professional disposition
Strong teammate who takes a collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks, but can work independently if necessary
Organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task quickly efficiently, adapting to new situations in a fast-paced environment
