We serve retail, private and corporate banking clients, with a primary focus on the Netherlands and with selective operations internationally. To further strengthen our Corporate Development team, we are looking for an experienced M&A professional. In your role, you are - collectively with the team - responsible for ABN AMRO's M&A activities. You will be working on the execution of transactions, as well as on strategic projects and business propositions. In addition, ad hoc projects and analysis of market opportunities are part of your job. The Corporate Development team of ABN AMRO is instrumental in executing the strategy to optimally position the bank for the future. The team works in close cooperation with and is an advisor of our Executive Committee and senior management. Corporate Development's role is to ensure that decisions taken and subsequent completion of M&A transactions fit the strategy of the group. The deals you will work on represent a value that may vary from tens to hundreds of millions of euros.

Your job
The core activities of the Corporate Development role include:
• Execute M&A transactions, analyse complex sets of information, valuation of targets, submission and evaluation of bids, due diligence, negotiations with counterparts and control of post-merger integration/divestment planning;
• Analysis of and advise on complex and major business propositions;
• Work with and within cross-functional teams including external specialists in the execution of M&A deals;
• Develop and maintain relationships essential for the execution of M&A transactions. Internal stakeholders include Legal, Group Strategy, Risk, Finance, Audit, Tax, IT, the ExCo and the Supervisory Board. External counterparties include for example investment banks, legal advisors, due diligence advisors and corporate development departments of other financial institutions;
• Set up and use a comprehensive set of M&A management protocols and standards.

• Ability to speak and understand Dutch
• Strong English language skills, both written and spoken. German and/or French language skills are a pre
