Organisational Context:

COO Operational Design Control & Resilience (COO ODCR) is a function steers on the efficiency and effectiveness of implementing and managing 1LoD non-financial risk requirements, methodology and tools for ING. The aim of the team is to deliver on ING's vision of Staying Safe & Secure by engaging and enabling ING (business) leaders via 8 standard processes to be in control of their respective domains hence contributing to ING's Risk Culture. Through 1LoD Methodology, Reporting & Gatekeeper team, we define and own the 8 reference processes to enable all 1LoD risk and business owners to become more effective and efficient in non-financial risk management. And all that in close alignment with our 2LoD colleagues.

We are looking for a pragmatic, innovative & inspiring senior consultant with strong result- driven capabilities, who wants to help us move the needle when it comes to steer on the efficiency and effectiveness of the 1LoD risk and control management processes across ING.

What you will do:

As Consultant Methodology, you report to the head of 1LoD Methodology, Reporting & Gatekeeper (MRG) and together with your colleagues, a team of 12 specialists in Amsterdam (6) and Bratislava (6), you are responsible for:
  • Steering on the efficiency and effectiveness of 1LoD NFR and compliance processes and activities, by ensuring robust and standardized design, implementation, monitoring, reporting, tooling, planning and role descriptions bank-wide;
  • Driving continuous improvements in the 1LoD NFR and compliance way of working, methodology and materials, in close collaboration with the 2LoD;
  • Managing and optimally organizing the activities provided by the ODCR HUB in Bratislava & Manila, by working closely together with the ODCR Hub lead and the ODCR locations;
  • Safeguarding quality of services provided by ODCR HUB via organising and chairing the relevant service review meetings;
  • Facilitating engagement, best practice sharing and collaboration among COO ODCR teams across all locations and HUBs;
  • Helping our COO ODCR business partners to be successful in their role towards ING (business) leaders by enhancing overall transparency and steering on the quality of guidance and training delivered regarding NFR and compliance requirements;
  • Creating and standardizing the methodology for bank-wide reporting on control and resilience;
  • Fostering an open and transparent communication and collaboration across COO ODCR Leads, ODCR CoEs, ODCR HUBs and/or 2LoD to make sure that globally developed methodologies are satisfactorily implemented.

Who are we looking for?
  • You are a strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation;
  • You understand the business impact of the implementation of processes, methodology and tools on the organization;
  • You have a solid knowledge about Non-Financial Risk and ERM Framework; and their relevance in banking processes and products;
  • You are able to develop and maintain (new) methodologies to help drive the transformation agenda;
  • You have strong leadership and management skills with a track record of leading cross-functional teams;
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • You are able to work effectively with global teams and manage multiple priorities.

What you will bring:
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience in banking/business consultancy or transformation role;
  • Experience in working in an international environment and realizing results with virtual teams across locations;
  • Pragmatism: ability to translate high level/strategic vision and requirements into tactical and concrete actions;
  • High resilience, the ability to deal with ambiguity and manage complexity;
  • Leadership skills, empowering teams by inspiring & energetic leadership;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and credibility;
  • Eager to learn and to take ownership of the responsibilities and mandate;
  • Excellent level of English, communication and presentation skills.
