You will get to use the latest technology to build systems that help make people's tasks easier, and in doing so you will have exposure to all our different department and lines of business. We of course provide you with training about our business processes and current systems, and third-party training are available on request for further professional development.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer you will help build ACT's data backbone through gathering, structuring, and combining our data in order to create reports & dashboards and give in-depth insights into the business.

You will be actively participating in all scrum activities in BI and help the team to further improve the way of working. You will work with most of the departments in the company and thus build a helicopter view of the business.

You need to be able to help the team prioritize the backlog, and independently handle a request from ideation through development, testing and releasing it. As part of Self Service BI, you will be supporting other departments to create and consume reports, as well as providing Power BI training to end users.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and further enriching the BI Data Warehouse;      
  • Integrating new source systems and transforming data using Azure Data Factory;
  • Modelling the data in AAS and further enriching the existing tabular models;
  • Creating and updating Power BI reports and dashboards;
  • Enriching the CI/CD Pipelines in Azure DevOps;
  • Migrating reports from Excel and other legacy tools, to the Data Warehouse and Power BI platform;
  • Communicating well with business users and helping them turn their business requirements into desired output;
  • Clear communication of insights and observations gleaned from BI data using reports and charts;

 

Key Requirements

  • IT & Business, Business Information Technology degree, or equivalent;
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure or other Cloud Platforms;
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL, Relational and Dimensional Data Modelling;
  • Able to write, execute, interpret and optimize queries;
  • Experience with Power BI / Data visualization tools;
  • Experience with Git and building CI/CD Pipelines are a plus;
  • Experience with Azure Logic Apps, PowerApps and Azure Automation are added advantage;
  • Highly motivated, positive individual looking for opportunities to show your skills and learn new things;
