Senior Payroll Manager
Job Description
  • Lead, develop and motivate a team of 5 EMEA Payroll professionals
  • Identify and progress opportunities for improvement within the region, that align to the regional Payroll strategy
  • Support process improvements across payroll platforms in the region, adopting standardised services where possible to ensure operational effectiveness
  • Support business growth generally and through acquisitions
  • Ensure Time and Attendance is implemented and managed where required.
  • Provide guidance and prioritisation of all payroll runs, ensuring all proposed adjustments are fully understood and executed in line with Audit requirements
  • Compliance with all EMEA statutory tax filings on a timely basis
  • Ensure efficient and high-quality execution of payroll process, establishing performance metrics, and meeting internal and external timelines
  • Ongoing identification of operational & regulatory risk, ensuring clear mitigation plans are identified, tracked and implemented
  • Ensure consistent management of third-party providers and oversee relationships, resolving issues as necessary
  • Prepare recommendations & implement any new payroll related initiatives and project
  • Support with the equity program for the region, ensuring the correct tax withholding and payroll processing where appropriate
  • Drive a high performance and risk aware culture within the payroll team through strong leadership
  • Develop a close working relationship with key stakeholders within HR, accounting, tax, legal etc ensuring alignment of objectives and deliverables
  • Review all payroll procedure on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance of SOX and external audit requirements

  • Graduate calibre
  • IPPM qualified (full or part)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Extensive experience of working in a busy payroll environment
  • Working knowledge of EMEA payroll and benefits
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Well-developed IT skills including advanced excel
  • Understands accounting principles and cost allocations and reconciliation
  • Strong team player
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Work using own initiative and without close supervision
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible, diligent and dependable
