Role Summary

The Team Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and people management of the Banking & Loan Operations (BLO) team. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality services across multiple banking and loan operations functions while maintaining a strong focus on risk management, controls, client service, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.

Reporting to the Section Manager, the Team Manager is accountable for overall team performance, operational effectiveness, talent development, stakeholder engagement, and execution of departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

• Lead and oversee day-to-day operations across Banking and Loan Operations functions, ensuring timely, accurate, and quality-controlled service delivery.
• Drive adherence to established procedures, service level agreements (SLAs), risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and management dashboards.
• Ensure effective workload distribution, prioritization, capacity planning, and resource management.
• Establish a strong control environment through oversight, reviews, and governance processes.
• Identify operational risks, root causes, and process gaps, and implement sustainable corrective actions.

People Leadership & Talent Development :

• Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Team Leads, Technical Coordinators, Senior Analysts, and Analysts.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
• Conduct performance management activities, including coaching, feedback, development planning, and succession planning.
• Manage employee engagement, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Address people-related matters in accordance with organizational policies and leadership expectations.

Risk, Audit & Compliance :

• Maintain a strong focus on operational risk management, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure appropriate controls are embedded within processes and regularly reviewed for effectiveness.
• Lead remediation efforts for audit findings, control deficiencies, and operational incidents.
• Promote a proactive risk culture and escalate material issues to senior management in a timely manner.

Process Excellence & Transformation :

• Drive process optimization, standardization, and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
• Partner with technology teams and business stakeholders to identify and implement operational enhancements.
• Ensure procedures, job aids, client profiles, and documentation remain current and aligned with business requirements.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across the organization.

Stakeholder & Client Management :

• Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, Middle Offices, Operations teams, and other key stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and service-related issues.
• Communicate business updates, procedural changes, and key initiatives effectively across stakeholder groups.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and consultation on Banking and Loan Operations processes.

Qualifications/Experience/ Skills:

• Minimum 6 years of experience including any relevant prior experience.
• Minimum 24 months experience in current role as TC or 1 year as a Team lead
• Should be flexible for shifts and extended working hours.
• Builds strong relationships with partners on site/ across business lines/ juniors and seniors
• Strong focus on problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow through. Escalates issues as appropriate.
• A client focused approach
• Able to execute dialogue with middle office for any communication.
• Strong understanding of Risk, Audit and Compliance factors.
• Candidates having good knowledge of Loan and banking products would be preferred.
• Knowledge on applications like ACBS, FIS - Metavante, EDM, DSM and Remote Payment Initiation & Inquiry would be preferred.
• Should have in depth knowledge of troubleshooting techniques to resolve exceptions and queries resulting out of processing.

Eligibility - Internal Partners

• 24 Months as a Technical Coordinator /Associate Consultant to move as a Team Lead
• Movement within TL and Consultant Level will be 12 months
