Our client is a well-established and growing insurance brokerage business in Hong Kong, seeking an experienced HR Lead to lead its lean HR team and support strategic business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HR professional who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment while managing a small team and partnering closely with senior management. The successful candidate will oversee the full spectrum of HR activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as the key point of contact with relevant insurance and employment-related authorities on human resources matters.

Your new role

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the HR and Admin team.
Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and offboarding.
Provide HR advisory support to management and employees on people-related matters.
Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with local employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
Act as the primary liaison with relevant insurance regulatory bodies, authorities, and external stakeholders on HR-related matters.
Support licensing, fit-and-proper assessments, staff appointments, and other regulatory-related HR processes where required.
Drive talent acquisition initiatives and support recruitment for key business functions.
Partner with department heads on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
Manage employee relations matters and handle disciplinary, grievance, and performance management cases professionally.
Prepare HR reports, analytics, and management information for senior leadership.
Continuously improve HR processes, systems, and operational efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience, with substantial exposure as a HR Generalist.
Prior insurance industry experience is essential.
Proven people management experience with the ability to lead and develop a HR team.
Strong knowledge of Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and HR best practices.
Familiarity with insurance regulatory requirements and experience liaising with relevant insurance authorities and regulatory bodies in Hong Kong.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to balance strategic HR initiatives with hands-on operational responsibilities.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin preferred).
