Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Assist the General Manager in driving the overall strategic planning, business development, operational efficiency, and revenue growth of the Private Banking Department.

• Business & Product Oversight: Lead the execution across Private Banking, Investment Advisory, Securities, Insurance, and Wealth Management solutions to meet business targets and maintain high service standards.

• Governance & Regulatory Compliance: Provide management oversight on risk management, suitability controls, AML/CFT, and operational risk. Maintain strict adherence to HKMA, SFC, and IA governance standards.

• Licensure & Oversight: Serve in key regulated capacities (EO / RO) to ensure all regulated activities operate within full compliance of statutory requirements.

• Stakeholder & Regulatory Liaison: Act as a primary liaison with regulatory bodies (HKMA, SFC, IA), internal control functions, and external auditors.

• Client Relationship Management: Cultivate high-value relationships with key ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients and strategic business partners.

Key Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Experience: Minimum 15 years of banking experience, with significant exposure to Private Banking and Wealth Management, including at least 8 years in senior leadership.

• Current Seniority: Currently serving at the Deputy General Manager level (or equivalent senior executive rank) at a major bank. (Note: Team Head level candidates will not be considered for this specific mandate).

• Regulatory Licensing:

  • SFC: Mandatory HKSI Type 1 & Type 4 licenses; currently holding or fully qualified to register as a Securities Executive Officer (EO).

  • Insurance: Insurance TR license required; candidates currently holding or qualified as an Insurance Responsible Officer (RO) are highly preferred.

• Professional Qualifications: Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) certification is strongly preferred.

• Core Competencies: Extensive expertise in private banking products, suitability controls, regulatory compliance, and risk governance under HKMA/SFC frameworks. Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Languages: Full professional proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English is essential.
