Project Manager Global Strategy (m/f/d)* (two open positions)
Munich Re`s Global Strategy Department within the division Strategy & Innovation (SI) drives strategy development and implementation for Munich Re's Reinsurance Segment and Munich Re Group .

The focus is on corporate, regional and business unit-specific strategies as well as the advancement of Munich Re's overall business model . In addition, our department is responsible for strategic assessment and post-merger integration planning of M&A opportunities as well as strategy communication .

We are looking for a Project Manager with proficiency and passion for strategy topics, highly motivated to take on the following challenges:

Your Job
  • Corporate Strategy for Reinsurance Segment (incl. Global Specialty): Drive strategy and business development initiatives based on market analyses, industry trends, competitive dynamics as well as Munich Re's business portfolio and risk appetite
  • Corporate Strategy for Munich Re Group: Contribute to strategy development at Group level and advance Munich Re's business field portfolios (incl. new business fields, potential M&A opportunities and strategic growth initiatives)
  • Operating Model: Design and optimize operating models and organizational structures to improve effectiveness and enable new business models
  • Project Management: Lead high-impact strategy and reorganization projects
  • Strategic Planning: Develop strategic guidelines and ambitions together with business units and execute divisional strategy development in close alignment with relevant central functions
  • M&A: Lead and support the identification and prioritization of M&A targets, assess strategic fit and develop post-merger integration scenarios
  • Supporting Divisions and Divisional Units: Advise business leaders on strategic, methodological and functional topics, facilitate executive workshops and initiate strategic growth and new business development initiatives
  • Strategy Communication: Further develop Munich Re's strategic narrative and support key internal and external communication formats, including analyst conferences

Your Profile
  • Profound expertise in strategy development, gained through 4+ years of professional experience in a renowned top-tier strategy consultancy, with demonstrated success operating at Project Manager level
  • Relevant expertise in the financial services industry with a profound understanding of existing and emerging business models, customer needs, products, pricing, distribution and overarching trends (e.g. digitization of the value chain, capital markets, brokers) and/or experience in core insurance functions such as underwriting would be an asset
  • Proven experience in managing large and complex projects as well as facilitating workshops for the executive management
  • Highly developed soft skills, especially strong communication and intercultural skills with a pronounced ability to influence stakeholders and transfer knowledge effectively
  • Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills
  • Excellent language proficiency in English
  • High level of commitment, team spirit and an integrative personality
  • Willingness to travel
