About the role

As a Principal Solution Architect , you will be a trusted advisor to customers, helping them transform their Accounts Payable and invoice processing processes through Serrala's solutions.

You will work at the intersection of finance, technology, and customer strategy , partnering closely with Sales and Implementation teams to understand complex business requirements, design the right solution approach, and demonstrate how Serrala can deliver measurable value.

This is a highly customer-facing role with significant visibility across international customers, prospects, and industry events.

What you'll do

• Lead solution and pre-sales activities around Invoice Processing, Accounts Payable, Document Capture, and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P).
• Act as a trusted solution advisor to customers, translating business and technical requirements into compelling solution concepts.
• Partner with Sales throughout the customer journey, from discovery and solution design to proposal and decision stages.
• Design and deliver impactful customer demos, solution presentations, and assessment workshops.
• Provide solution expertise for RFPs, proposals, and complex international opportunities.
• Advise customers on topics such as AP automation, e-invoicing, data capture, AI, reporting, SaaS, and ERP integration.
• Represent Serrala at customer events, webinars, conferences, and industry forums.
• Continuously enhance solution demonstrations, presentations, and pre-sales approaches based on customer and market needs.
• Stay ahead of developments across Serrala solutions, ERP ecosystems, cloud/SaaS technologies, and the competitive landscape.
• Share market and customer insights with Sales, Product, and Implementation teams to strengthen our solutions and customer approach.
• Provide expertise and guidance across complex opportunities, helping teams develop the strongest solution strategy.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in Purchase-to-Pay, Accounts Payable, invoice processing, document management, and vendor payment processes.
• Significant experience in Solution Architecture, Pre-Sales, Solution Consulting, Management Consulting, or Implementation Consulting. Hands-on AP or Finance experience combined with strong technology expertise is also valuable.
• Strong knowledge of invoice-processing technologies, including approval workflows, e-invoicing, data capture, AI-enabled solutions, and reporting.
• Solid understanding of cloud and SaaS architectures and solutions.
• Experience with ERP environments and integrations, particularly across AP, AR, and General Accounting.
• Ability to understand complex customer requirements and translate them into clear, scalable solution designs and compelling business value.
• Excellent presentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
• A proactive, consultative mindset and confidence in taking ownership of complex customer engagements.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20-30% to support customers and attend relevant industry events.
