An exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a major data transformation environment, working across strategic data platform, analytics and governance initiatives.
You'll sit at the intersection of business and technology, partnering with stakeholders, Data Engineering, Analytics and Data Governance teams to translate complex requirements into practical, traceable data solutions.
Your new role
You will:
- Lead requirements gathering through workshops, interviews and data analysis.
- Translate business needs into functional, technical and data requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Analyse end-to-end data flows, integrations, transformation rules and business processes.
- Define data mappings, data quality rules, reconciliation requirements and business definitions.
- Conduct impact assessments across source systems, integrations, data platforms, reporting and downstream consumers.
- Partner closely with engineers, architects, analytics and governance teams.
- Support testing, defect management, business validation and implementation readiness.
- Maintain strong requirements traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support data governance, metadata, lineage, privacy, security and regulatory requirements.
- 5+ years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Business Analyst or similar.
- Strong experience delivering complex data and technology transformation.
- Previous banking or financial services experience.
- Strong SQL skills across data profiling, validation, reconciliation and analysis.
- Experience with data integration, ETL/ELT, data warehouses or modern data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, lineage, quality and transformation.
- Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process/data flows and source-to-target mappings.
- Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
- Experience working within Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Exposure to Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Power BI or comparable cloud/data technologies would be highly regarded.
This is an opportunity to work on strategic, enterprise-level data initiatives where you can combine strong BA capability with genuine technical and data expertise. You'll work closely with senior business and technical stakeholders and contribute across the full lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through to testing and implementation.
