Software Delivery Manager

The company
FIS is the world's largest global provider dedicated to financial technology solutions.
The role
FIS' Sydney based team, responsible for our market leading corporate treasury SaaS solution, is growing to a size of 80 people, of which about half will be Sydney based.
Working closely with two cross functional teams of six you will be responsible for fortnightly software delivery to our global SaaS customers. This is a hands-on project role where you will coach the teams, ensuring the adoption of agile practices leads to successful project delivery. As we are growing, your teams will primarily be made up of recent hires, giving you plenty of scope to shape the teams.
You will be the key escalation point for both team members and management, and be responsible for anticipating problems and mitigating their impact. Working with peers you will have significant input into our development processes, as well as all design, development, testing and delivery activities.
As line manager of developers focused both on coding and testing you will play an active role in team hiring and selection; mentoring and development; as well as day to day line management activities.

The person

Reports to: Director, Software Development

You understand the 'why' of agile, not just the who, what and when. And you'll be experienced in using this knowledge to solve problems and guide teams to success. You will also be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge of your previous projects that is beyond the pure project management, including what drove your customers and how your product met that need.
You'll have worked in professional software delivery for at least seven years, and have three plus years in a leadership role such as scrum master, agile coach, or project or delivery manager.
Experience in the financial or banking sector would be a bonus. But, more important is your ability to solve problems and innovate. You need to be someone who isn't satisfied with running the day to day, but strives for constant improvement.
