Your role

You'll be a part of our Knowledge & Practice Services (KPS) team based in Sydney. In your role as a Research Librarian, you will deliver a high-quality legal and business research service, ensuring lawyers are kept up to date with all relevant legal developments and business insights for their practice groups and clients.

As a Research Librarian in our KPS team you will:
  • Deliver high quality legal and business research to support lawyers across the firm.
  • Work closely with lawyers to provide expert research and current awareness support.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to build research capability.
  • Maintain and promote knowledge resources, tools and research platforms to maximise their value and usage.
  • Manage the library collection.
  • Contribute to firmwide knowledge projects and innovation initiatives that improve access to information and support efficient legal service delivery.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.

About you

You will have:
  • A strong understanding of legal information sources, databases and research methodologies.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a research role in a law library or professional services environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
