About the Role:

This role would be ideal for an experienced, ETL Support Engineer with a strong background in operational support, who has a keen interest to deliver high standard operational support for the existing Hadoop platform. The purpose of this role is to provide strong technical support over the outcomes of the operational delivery of applications and services within CDO Operations for ETL Loads.

Reporting to the Operations Manager in the Chief Data Office team, you will work within a portfolio comprising onsite and offshore teams, and you will interact with both onsite and offshore teams, including mid to senior level staff, ranging from Program Managers, Data Architects, Data Engineers, Staff Engineers and Change Owners. You will play a pivotal role in contributing towards key strategic operational initiatives and high profile projects, within the Data engineering teams.

What skills you will need to be successful?
  • Strong skills in supporting, troubleshooting and problem solving of critical, large-scale Cloudera Hadoop clusters and ETL systems is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing complex SQL queries, Shell scripting and Python coding would be highly essential.
  • Commendable experience in Ab Initio tool suite, UNIX or Linux administration, along with a strong background in supporting ETL batch applications in a production environment is highly essential.
  • An ability to effectively communicate, educate and positively influence internal stakeholders would be highly critical.
  • Solid understanding of modern DevOps tool set, Jenkins, Git, Puppet, Team City, JIRA is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, Java or Scala development and ITIL framework would be highly desirable, but not mandatory.
