Hays is proud to be partnering with a large and complex organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead their payroll function.This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll delivery, while driving continuous improvement across processes and systems.
Your new role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations across a diverse workforce. You will lead a small team and play a critical role in strengthening compliance frameworks, improving processes, and managing payroll risk.Key responsibilities include:
Leading the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services
Managing and developing a team of payroll specialists
Ensuring compliance with legislation, industrial agreements, and internal policies
Driving process improvements and automation initiatives
Managing escalations and resolving complex payroll issues
Leading payroll audits, compliance reviews, and risk management activities
Partnering with key stakeholders on legislative and workforce management
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience managing a payroll function in a medium to large organisationStrong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
Experience driving process improvement and reducing risk
Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience
