Our client is a complex enterprise organisation seeking to engage an experienced Principal Cyber Security Operations Consultant to support the ongoing uplift and maturity of its cyber security operations capability. This is an initial 12 month contract with potential for extension, where you will play a key role in influencing cyber strategy, operational frameworks and governance practices while partnering with technical teams and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
While Brisbane-based candidates are preferred, interstate applicants may also be considered. The role can be performed predominantly from Brisbane, with any required travel to be undertaken at the consultant's own expense. Your New RoleThis role sits at the intersection of cyber security strategy, governance and operations. Rather than being hands-on in a SOC environment, you will focus on improving how cyber security services are designed, governed and delivered across the organisation.You will:

• Lead the development and continual improvement of cyber security operational frameworks and processes.
• Provide expert advice across security operations, vulnerability management, incident response and threat intelligence.
• Work closely with stakeholders to improve cyber capability, operational effectiveness and risk management outcomes.
• Develop executive reporting, metrics and dashboards that support informed decision making.
• Contribute to cyber security strategy, capability roadmaps and operational maturity initiatives.
• Drive alignment between cyber operations, governance and business objectives.

What You'll Need To SucceedWe're seeking a senior cyber professional who can operate across both technical and business environments.You will bring:

• Extensive experience across cyber security operations functions.
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, threat intelligence, incident response and security monitoring.
• Experience designing or improving cyber security operating models, frameworks and governance processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence technical and executive audiences.
• Experience delivering cyber security uplift initiatives within large and complex enterprise environments.
• The ability to translate cyber risk and operational challenges into practical business outcomes.
• NV2 Security Clearance highly regarded but not essential.
